Today we are mostly loving the new Messages beta for OSX. If you’re an iMessage fan on your iOS device, then head on over here to grab Messages for your Mac:

Messages will be a feature in the new OSX coming soon called Mountain Lion, but don’t worry – this beta works on Snow Leopard just fine (as long as you’ve updated to 10.7.3).
One problem we noticed was that sending an iMessage to an iPhones phone number meant the message didn’t appear on the Mac – and vice versa – sending an iMessage to the email address didn’t appear on the iPhone…
Here’s a handy tip for fixing that little problem:
- On your iOS device, tap your Settings icon
- Go into the Messages settings
- Tap the ‘Receieve At’ button
- Now you can add as many email addresses as you like
With this handy tip you can now receive your messages at any email address, even ones that aren’t Apple IDs, and on all your devices.
